About Viktor Mautner Markhof
Viktor Mautner Markhof, born in Vienna in 1960 as the son of Heinrich “Heini” Mautner Markhof (1927 - 2009), studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. His professional career as a management consultant, executive and CFO of Brau-Union (the largest Austrian brewer, whose majority shareholder is the Dutch brewing company Heineken) took him and his family to Munich, Brno (where he managed the brewery right next to the abbey featured in his first novel), Linz and Warsaw. He has been a novelist and historian since 2010 and is dedicated to genealogy.
